What is more fun than a frozen drink with a cute paper umbrella?
Nothing makes me feel like I'm on a tropical vacation like a fruity frozen drink.
Know what is even better? This frozen watermelon margarita mocktail has only 3 ingredients (because ice doesn't count) and won't give you a hangover.
You need this fruity margarita in your life!
Margaritas are my favorite drink. Watermelon is my favorite way to cool down on a hot summer day. So I just had to combine them into one fruity frozen beverage!
More often than not frozen drinks are made with tons of ice that waters down the drink as it melts. To keep this from happening, I cut down on the ice and froze some watermelon.
The only catch is you have to remember to freeze your fruit ahead of time. However, I love snacking on frozen watermelon on hot summer days so I keep some stored in the freezer for both drinks and snacks.
Frozen Watermelon Margarita Mocktail
Makes 4 margaritas
1/4 cup lime juice (2-3 limes)
2 cups frozen watermelon chunks
1 1/2 cup sparkling water or club soda (I used Trader Joe's lime sparkling water)
1/2 cup ice
stevia or sweetener of choice* ( optional-do a taste test first)
Ahead of time slice a seedless watermelon into bite-size cubes
Freeze watermelon cubes by spreading them evenly on a tray and placing in the freezer for 3-4 hours
Juice 1/4 cup lime into the blender
Add 2 cups frozen watermelon to the blender
Add 1/2 cup ice to blender
Add 1 1/2 cups sparkling water or club soda (I like lime sparkling water) to blender
Blend until it is a frozen slushie
Pour into a margarita glass, take to a patio, and relax with this frozen treat
*Reduce sparkling water/club soda and add tequila and triple sec to make the cocktail version
